A Welcome Message from Charlotte... Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you'll find it informative and entertaining. Unfortunately, it would appear at this point that I have been involuntarily retired. I have neither an agent nor a publisher. Currently, the quality of writing has very little to do with what gets published. The promotability of the author has become more important than what is actually on the printed page, and the most desirable authors are those who come with contacts in place that will garner publicity for their books. That makes things incredibly tough for writers across the board--both newcomers and established authors. A business that is driven by marketing rather than quality is a lot like the proverbial Emperor without clothes. It's about selling puff pastry without any filling. After spending almost two years attempting (and failing) to get three different manuscripts accepted, I find that the publishing industry has become so difficult, so incomprehensible, and so very expensive that I have lost both the desire and the energy to push on. If the situation changes, I'll certainly let everyone know. But for now, the books available on this site are all there is. I'd also like to mention that, unfortunately, very few, if any, of my books are available in bookstores. In most cases, you can have a local store order it for you. However, on this site you can get any or all of the books, and they've been discounted wherever possible to give you the best price. Since people so often ask me about what I like to read, at the top of my list is mysteries and true crime, followed by bio- and autobiography, some general fiction and, always, to refresh my palate for great writing, Dickens. I always enjoy hearing from my readers and I answer all mail -- snail and alike. So please don't be shy. Let me hear from you and I'll reply as quickly as I'm able.
